SURYAMITRA SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has stepped up capacity target under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) by five times, now India is aiming to generate 1,00,000 MW solar power by 2022. The target will principally comprise of 40 GW Rooftop and 60 GW through Large and Medium Scale Grid Connected Solar Power Projects. With this ambitious target, India will become one of the largest Green Energy producers in the world, surpassing several developed countries.

In view of achieving the above target, MNRE has launched Surya Mitra Scheme for creating 50,000 trained personnel within a period of 5 years (2015-16 to 2019-20). The course content has been approved by the National Council of Vocational Training as per the National Skill Qualification Framework.

The Programme is sponsored by National Institute of Solar Energy and implemented through State Nodal Agencies (SNA's).The training programmes are being organised by various institutions across the country.

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has identified and recognized MGIRED to offer the training Programme. MGIRED is the first institution in Karnataka to have commenced the programme for first batch in December 2015.

Programme Objective: To equip the students with the skills in installation, commissioning, sales and service of renewable energy devices. Trained "Surya Mitras" shall have vast opportunities for employment in the growing Solar Energy Power Sector - installation, commsissioning, operation & maintenance. The Suryamitra Program is also designed to prepare the candidates to take up Entrepreneurship in Solar Energy sector.

Duration           :     3 Months

Batch Size       :     30

Eligibility          :     1. Diploma – Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics

                             2. ITI –Electrical/Wireman/Electronics/Mechanic/Fitter/Sheet Metal


Preference       :     Women/reservation category and rural areas

 

Persons with higher qualifications like degree in any discipline or higher are strictly not eligible.

Programme is offered free includes boarding and lodging.
